The Argument is a short fiction film which follows to lovers navigating a rough and dark time in their relationship. They cheat on each other, they argue with each other, and they love each other. The film aims to showcase how complex a relationship can be from an inside perspective, not just the perspective everyone else thinks they see. The Argument explores themes of rebellion through relationship expectations and defiance against their relationship. The couple rebel against their relationship together in an attempt to hurt the other lover, while also in the process hurting themselves.
This film was written for my University course, “City Of Rebels”, and was my first time writing a script for a non-solo production.
