Something new…
Starting a new project has always been a long and stressful process for me. It begins with the creation of an idea, which I then develop slowly over time, allowing the idea to naturally grow into a concept which I am happy with. Coming up with the idea takes time; sometimes I’ll wake up from a rough night of sleep and have an amazing idea that doesn’t go anywhere, or ill be on the bus and think of an idea that needs work but ends up being one of my best ideas to date. My creative process is all over the place, but it works for me. But once I have the hardest part out of the way, I move onto character development, which sometimes is harder than the initial idea itself. Fleshing out the characters, giving each character an arc that feels right and makes sense within the story I’m trying to tell. Understanding my characters’ motives, what drives them. It’s a complex part of a project.
Which is why for my current project, which I’ve yet to announce (so here is my announcement), I’m slowly developing this project. I don’t want to rush the development and create a film that isn’t up to my standards or that has potential but was overall rushed. I’ll be focusing on the small details before starting the first draft of the script, and continue to change and adapt as the scripts are being written.
As this project continues, more details will shortly come out, and I’m looking forward to sharing them.
P.s here’s a photo of me on the set of Polaroid.
